Yú Bīē Nêōw (/jʌ́/ /bɪ̄æ/ [hard; solid; compact] [fly]) is a subtropical Town located in the Bāwkyoīä Provence of the Kingdom of Hobben.

The name Yú Bīē Nêōw is derived from the Goblin language, as Yú Bīē Nêōw was founded by Gruffudd Floyd Madog, who was culturaly Goblin.

Climate

Yú Bīē Nêōw has a yearly average temperature of 20°C (68°F), with its average temperature during the summer being a warm 29°C (84°F) and its average temperature during the winter being a cool 12°C (53°F). Yú Bīē Nêōw receives an average of 270 cm/y (106 in/y) of precipitation, most of which comes in the form of rain during the summer. Yú Bīē Nêōw covers an area of nearly 5 km2 (2 mi2), and an average elevation of 3338 m (10951 ft) above sea level.

Overview

Yú Bīē Nêōw was founded durring the late 10th century, by Gruffudd Floyd Madog. The establishment of Yú Bīē Nêōw was plagued by a lack of willing colonists. After attempts to pay people to resettle failed Gruffudd Floyd Madog struck deals with nearby nations and communities to establish Yú Bīē Nêōw as a prison colony.

Yú Bīē Nêōw was built using the conventions of Goblin durring the late 10th century. Naturaly, all settlmentss have their own look to them, and Yú Bīē Nêōw is no diffrent. The town's buildings feature waddle and daub construction with good timber frames and a stone foundation protected by thatched or shingled rooves. Most buildings with second floors are built in such a way as to overhang into the streets on the upper floors for more space, as building size seems to be the primary indicator of wealth within the community. Most buildings are not decorated with any integral features, but instead use ivy, flowers, and other natural elements in planters of on trellices to breathe life into the structure they grow upon.

Yú Bīē Nêōw is buildings are arranged arround a network of broad split-log ties streets which form a diamond shaped grid, where each diamond verries in size given the proximity of the paralell streets forming each section. The ocasional smaller diamond has been used to construct a park, plaza, and other communal structures. The town is the proud owner of a thick set of fortified walls fashioned from querried stone blocks. While not up to snuff for a fort or castle wall, the town's walls are naturaly much larger than those of forts or castles. Therefore, the construction such a wall is most expencive. Yú Bīē Nêōw's buget focused wall would serve its community well in battle in spite of looking unimpressive compared to castles and fortresses. Yú Bīē Nêōw's top tier civilian fortifications has sufferd soem light damage, reducing its function a little in some spots, but could almsot certainly preform as expected... Though some of the worse spots could lead to the loss of defenders lives if attackers identified the weaknesses ahead of time.

A look around Yú Bīē Nêōw gives the unmistakable impression the town is one of the strictest places imaginable. Everyone’s actions are clearly directed by laws they keep in heart and mind at all times. Orderly byond order is a phrase which Yú Bīē Nêōw brings to mind.

Civic Infrastructure

Yú Bīē Nêōw possesses a city-wide Aethary Link which provides Aethary access anywhere within its metropolitan. This allows citizens who can afford the relevant devices access in their places of work, and rarely homes.

Yú Bīē Nêōw has an Office of Civil Groundskeeping, which works to enforce local ordinances relating to the construction and upkeep up of all plant life, water features, and other natural decorations within Yú Bīē Nêōw. They are also responsible for the maintenance of these features. Notably, the OCG is not responsible for Yú Bīē Nêōw's parks.

Yú Bīē Nêōw has a first rate hospital which caters to anyone in need of long term medical care.

Yú Bīē Nêōw has a Parks and Recreation Department, which is responsible for the construction, management, and usage rights for all of its parks and parklands. They are not to be confused with the Office of Civil Groundskeeping as they do not hold authority over nor responsibility for Yú Bīē Nêōw's natural decorations nor waterways.

Yú Bīē Nêōw has a public schooling program overseen by the Hall of Sages who has the responsibility of ensuring access to affordable high-quality education in all basic classes (Reading, Writing, Mathmatics, General Sciences, General Arcana, and Social Education) is made available to all citizens.

Yú Bīē Nêōw has a public septic system, which allows its citizens to have indoor bathrooms. The septic system is overseen by the League of Sewerkeepers, who posses the legal authority to enforce all laws relating to the septic system, and are also tasked with its maintenance and upkeep.

Cultural Notes

Yú Bīē Nêōw's garrison was built using a different architectural style from the rest of the town. The style used which employed abundant symbolic geometry, using pure forms such as the circle and square, and plans are based on often symmetrical layouts featuring rectangular courtyards and halls. These structures were is decorated with carved stone or stucco reliefs and made use of colorful stone mosaics..

Consequently, its residents speak many languages at a functional level.

Yú Bīē Nêōw's is something of a geological and arcane anomaly, as neither physical nor magical law entirely explains its formation.

History

In time immemorial, reportedly some time during the late 2nd century, Yú Bīē Nêōw was attacked by soldiers from another nation, waging a greater campaign. The details of the conflict are hazy at best due to many conflicting accounts. What is known is Yú Bīē Nêōw lost 109 people, 165 livestock, and 72 buildings. The conflict ended after roughly 213, when members of Yú Bīē Nêōw's militia enacted an operation to delay the operations of the enemy. The operation was complicated by extremely dangerous terrain, including unfamiliar and poisonous plants which many ate while foraging. The conflict ended with an assault and siege on the fortification, which ended in a crushing defeat for Yú Bīē Nêōw's forces. The war is remembered in legend by Yú Bīē Nêōw's bards, historians, and legend keepers.
